Campus Entrance & Access
How & when can I enter the Campus
Wintercircus has 3 entrances:
- Startup Campus Entrance: Miriam Makebaplein 2, 9000 Gent
- Main Event & Public Entrance Address: Lammerstraat 13, 9000 Gent
- Other Public Entrance: St. Pietersnieuwstraat 11, 9000 Gent
As a Campus resident, you have 24/7 access to the campus, a zone only accessible for team members & your professional guests.The main, ‘external’ campus doors at the Makeba entrance and Campus entrance are unlocked keyless via the
Wintercircus mobile app. Only Campus residents and staff will have the app function to unlock campus doors.
The designated campus entrance and its reception is via the Makeba-square, just next to the public library & bike parking. We kindly ask our startups and their guests to always use this entrance.
The official and post mailbox adres is Sint Pietersnieuwstraat 11, 9000 Gent.
How can I invite & welcome external campus (meeting) guests?
- Meeting Confirmation: Upon confirmation of your meeting, your external guest will receive a unique 6-digit code via email. This a personal code linked to him/her.
- Makeba External Entry: This 6-digit code is needed to unlock the main external campus door via the "Makeba" square. Simply enter the code on the keypad at the Makeba entrance to gain access.
- Reception: Once inside, your guests will need the same 6-digit code to open the internal fence gate that gives access to the campus reception zone. Enter the code on the corresponding keypad attached to the reception fence and you are in!
- Registration: Upon entering the campus, head to the reception area and use the iPad provided to register your arrival. This will notify your host that you have arrived.
Is the campus a close – ‘safe’ space?
Yes, the main, ‘external’ campus doors at the Makeba entrance and Campus entrance are unlocked keyless via the Wintercircus mobile app.
Only Campus residents and staff will have the app function to unlock campus doors. We have cameras at certain circulation spaces & entrances (not in the campus zone itself).
The internal campus circulation doors (between the campus zones - the doors of private units) need to be closed during office hours for the purpose of air ventilation, heating or cooling.
From 8PM onwards these internal circulation doors will be locked automatically and can only be unlocked keyless via the Wintercircus mobile app by residents & staff. So don’t lose your phone after 8pm.
Is there a staffed reception (for visitors)?
Yes, the front desk is staffed from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
All visitors enter via the Makeba-entrance, via the campus fence and need to register themselves. This registration will ping the resident that his guest has arrived.
Is there enough bike parking?
Yes, beneath the Miriam Makeba-square and the Campus Entrance there is a public city bicycle parking space, spread over floors -1 and -2 and with room for 500 bicycles.
Across the street, hidden away, under the City Administration building, on the Woodrow Wilsonplein there is a covered bicycle parking for 400 bicycles.
Car Parking
‘Interparking Gent-Zuid’ : 3 min walk. (Franklin Rooseveltlaan 3/A, 9000 Gent)
or ‘parking Sint-Pietersplein’ : 9 min walk. (Sint-Pietersplein 65, 9000 Gent)
Campus residents can receive a 10% promotional fee on parking subscriptions with Interparking Gent-Zuid by emailing: coa@interparking.com. Please keep campus management in cc: campus@wintercircus.be in your first request email, so Interparking is sure you are part of the campus. Fill in the Interparking application form and attach to your mail.
How do team members have access to the campus?
Starting on the first day of your contract, the team members (if we received correct credentials) will be mailed the download link for the Wintercircus app (via the App or Play store).
- Sign in via your unique username & password provided by an automated email sent by Wintercircus (zapfloor)
- Use the Wintercircus app to:
- Book campus meeting rooms
- Invite external guests
- Keyless 24/7 Campus access
Startup Campus Contracts
What types of campus contracts are available?
We offer three types of memberships:
- Private Offices: For teams of 5 to 15, offering a dedicated space.
- Team Desks: Dedicated desks within shared areas for consistent workspace.
- Flex Desks: Available on a first-come, first-serve basis, ideal for individuals needing flexible workspace.
What are the rental terms?
Private offices and team desks have year-to-year contracts with a 3-month notice period. Flex desks can be rented monthly.
Is my seat individual?
For yearly contracts, a list of employees is required, which can include up to 50% additional team members who have access to the seats or private offices.
What does a residency at the campus include?
Residency includes high-speed internet, coffee, tea, filtered water, meeting room time, access to the Wintercircus network, and exclusive member events.
What are the operating hours of Wintercircus?
Wintercircus is accessible 24/7 for campus members.
Can I visit before I decide?
Yes, if your online application is approved, you are welcome to visit the campus. The final step involves pitching to a jury.
Are there any additional expenses not included in the fees?
There are no hidden fees, but additional services like printing, special mailing, or event space usage may incur extra charges.
Is a deposit required?
A one-month deposit is required for private offices.
Can I bring outside clients/partners in for meetings?
Yes, clients and partners are welcome. For meetings longer than 30 minutes, booking a meeting room is required. After office hours, you'll need to manage your visitors.
As a startup resident, am I part of Wintercircus' Collective?
Startups with contracts starting before 30/11/2024 receive free Collective membership until the end of 2024. From January 2025, campus residents can opt-in for a Collective membership upgrade.
Facilities, Amenities & Services
What facilities are available at Wintercircus?
Facilities include flex or private desks, private offices, meeting rooms, phone booths, event spaces, coffee corners, a kitchen, and recreational areas.
Are there any special amenities for startups?
Yes, we provide high-speed internet, printing services, cleaning, mail handling, plant care, and access to the Wintercircus network.
What’s the difference between Flex and Dedicated Desks?
Flex desks are limited, available monthly, and on a first-come, first-serve basis. Dedicated desks are reserved for specific teams, either in shared or private office configurations.
Do I have to pay for meeting rooms?
No, campus meeting rooms are included in your campus fee, though formal booking is required. Informal meeting spots and call booths are also available.
What kind of meeting rooms are provided?
We offer 20 formal meeting rooms for 3 to 12 people, along with 25 huddles and call booths to ensure privacy and reduce disturbance. The 20 meeting rooms are fully A/V / scree / conf. call equipped rooms.
The use of meeting rooms is included in the monthly fee; we do require that every meeting is booked via the Wintercircus app. Each (formal) meeting room has an exterior display, showing its upcoming meetings.
What other types of Wintercircus event spaces can I book?
For half or full day events/workshops we suggest to book our event spaces via event@wintercircus.be
- The Auditorium: A premium room for 100 people, with an adjacent foyer.
- Expo Spaces: Multi-purpose spaces for workshops, lectures, or small parties.
- Workshop Rooms: Three rooms for up to 25 people each.
- Boardroom: A luxurious meeting space for 25 people, ideal for combining with a meal.
Do campus residents get promotional fees on event spaces?
Yes, startups with team desks or private offices receive a 25% discount on standard event space pricing.
What internet options do you offer?
Our Campus offers a private high speed wifi connection “Wintercircus Private” with state-of-the-art access points. We provide 30up/30down Mbps for private offices and min. 10/10 Mbps for open space users. Custom requests can be accommodated for private offices.
By entering your password, all startups connect to a virtual local area network (VLAN) within “Wintercircus Private”. Campus Management will provide your team password upon move-in. Wintercircus provides standard fire-wall security, but all hardware & software hacking liabilities are a responsibility of the end users.
Connection Issues: If you experience any connectivity issues, contact the campus management via campus@wintercircus.be.
Do you have a podcast studio?
No but there’s an outstanding podcast studio available across the street from Urgent.fm's student radio, located in The Krook, Gent. You can book it by emailing opnamestudio@urgent.fm.The Urgent.fm editorial office and studios are located on level -1 of the Krook building. They are easily accessible by taking the stairs down from Miriam Makebaplein, on the Wintercircus side.
You can see the studio from the covered bike parking under the Makeba entrance.
Do you have printing services?
Yes, printing via a visible network printer in the mail room is available & occasional printing is free.
Do you offer mail service?
Business Mail service is included for team desks and private offices, but not for flex desks or event organizers.
We don’t handle parcels. The mail room is located on the ground floor, a few steps from the entrance Lammerstraat. This space is exclusively accessible for campus residents & staff and is camera monitored.
The mail box “Sint Pietersnieuwstraat 11, 9000 Gent” is emptied daily before 10AM. Your company mail will be daily sorted by team Wintercircus in your assigned mailbox in the mail room. Please check your mailbox regularly for letters to avoid issues.
Package Policy: Due to limited accessibility & safekeeping Wintercircus cannot provide a package handling service. We recommend using the Bpost parcel module in ‘Gent Zuid’ shopping mall to receive and send packages
Outgoing Mail: Drop off any outgoing mail at Woodrow Wilson-square 4, a 100m walk or walk to the manned Bpost office in Lange Kruisstraat 55, 10min walk.
What other services are offered?
We offer in-house catering, guided tours, and assistance with hospitality & event needs.

We present 10 inspiring tech and founder focused success stories, providing excellent networking opportunities where the Campus and the entire Wintercircus Collective meet.
What are the “Expert Open Hours”?
These bi-weekly campus sessions offer startups exclusively the possibility to book 30-minute consultations with laser-focused experts who can help your team tackle concise, operational challenges.
Will we have some fun together with the Campus?
Sure! The campus organizes informal drinks, activities, and seasonal gatherings designed to build ties and foster a vibrant community spirit.
Can we learn from our Campus peers?
Yes, we will organize regular campus meetups, organic peer learning sessions amongst groups of campus residents, facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Policies
Can I have my 'registered office' at Wintercircus?
Yes, with prior approval from campus management & strictly for selected startups. You are responsible for all administrative tasks related to registration and deletion of the registered office at Wintercircus.
What if my business outgrows my Wintercircus campus?
We try to accommodate growth within our spaces, but with a limit of 15 seats per startup. Consider your growth plans when applying & any updates towards campus management are appreciated and treated confidentially.
Is there a community guideline or code of conduct?
Yes, there is a campus guideline that all campus companies have signed together with the campus agreement and adhere to, ensuring a productive and respectful environment.
What culture do you expect from the team?
We expect a culture of optimism, pride, participation, and a commitment to pay it forward to our Wintercircus community.
What is your dog policy? Can I bring my dog with me?
No pets are allowed.

Coffee & Cafetaria
Do you have coffee corners?
Yes, we have five coffee corners on each floor, near the elevator banks. Each coffee corner offers fresh coffee, tea options and sparkling & still water, a dish washer and a small fridge to store your snacks.
Larger lunch or food packages are to be stocked at the Campus Cafeteria for max. 48h.
The Campus Cafeteria?
Located on the minus one, just below Bar Bougie, and exclusive for Campus residents. The Cafeteria offers larger fridges, microwave-ovens, dish- & tableware.
Eating zone: mingle in the cafeteria zone, or at the designated terrace zone of Bar Bougie at the atrium. This designated zone of Bar Bougie’s terrace allows campus residents to have their lunch underneath our iconic dome. It’s not allowed to consume your own food or drinks inside Bar Bougie.
Printer guidelines
Print driver installation Konica Minolta / Apple
- In the following link you can download the driver. (https://www.konicaminolta.eu/eu-en/support/download-centre)
- Choose the correct model: Search your product: bizhub C368 and click GO.
- Select: +Drivers.
- Choose the desired language and choose macOS Sonoma 14 (regardless to what you actually have)
- Scroll down: Printer Driver
- Click Download button
- Mark Accept license agreement.
- Download the .dmg file.
- Once download double click the file, it will be extracted and a new “drive” IT5 will be seen in the left half of you “finder”
- Open de IT5 drive and double click the file you see to start the driver installation wizard.
- Follow all steps, it’s always “next” and once your finger or password.
- Now you can install the printer, via “system preferences” via the apple on the left upper corner.
- Click “printers and scanners” in older OS, or type in “printers” in newer OS.
- In older OS click the “+”, in newer OS click “add printer”.
- The wizard opens, select the second icon, the globe.
- Type in the correct IP address: 10.120.0.62 (not the one in the princtscreen!!)
- Select the HP protocol, type in a good name Konica c368 Wintercircus
- Choose “select software” you’ll see a list in which you can select the exact model (Konica Minolta c368) it helps to type in the word “Konica” to see a shorter list.
- Click “ok” to finish.
Print driver installation Konica Minolta / Windows
- Go to this link to download the driver: Konica Minolta Support.
- Choose the correct printer type under "Search your product": select "bizhub C368" and click "GO."
- Click on "+Drivers."
- Choose your desired language and Windows version.
- Scroll down to "Printer Driver" (NOT "universal printer" or "V4 driver").
- Click the "Download" button next to "PCL6."
- Check the box to "Accept license agreement."
- Download the .zip file.
- Right-click on the .zip file and select "Extract All..."
- Go to the Control Panel via the Windows search function (type “con” in the search bar by the magnifying glass or Windows icon at the bottom left).
- Go to "Devices and Printers." Proceed to step 12 or step 13.
- In the latest Windows 11: Go to "Printers & Scanners," select "Add a device," wait for the search to complete, and then choose "Add manually."
- For all earlier Windows versions: Click on "Add a printer" at the top of the screen, and wait for the search to complete.
- Click on "The printer that I want isn’t listed."
- Choose "Add a new port," and select "Standard TCP/IP Port."
- Under "Hostname or IP address," type the correct IP address of the printer (10.120.0.62).
- Uncheck the box at the bottom left and click "Next."
- The correct driver should now be installed: Click on "Browse..."
- Click on "Browse..." again and find the folder you extracted in step 9.
- Choose the .inf file, click "Open," and then "OK."
- In the list, select "KONICA MINOLTA C368SeriesPCL" and click "OK."
- Type an appropriate name (e.g., "konica c368 wintercircus") and click "Next."
- Check "Do not share this printer."
- You may choose to set it as the default printer, then click "Finish."
- Right-click on the newly installed printer and select "Printer properties" (in the latest Windows 11, simply click and then select "Printer properties").
- Select the "Ports" tab and click on "Configure Port" for the selected port.
- Choose "Raw," set "Port number" to 9100, and check "SNMP Enabled."
- Select the "Advanced" tab and choose "Printing Defaults."
- Under "Select Color," choose "Auto Color" or "Grayscale," and under "Print Type," select "2-Sided" or "1-Sided."
- Select the "Basic" tab.
