EXPO 'CONSENT'
Eén klik. Eén enkele "ja." En klaar, voor altijd toestemming gegeven.
CONSENT is een tentoonstelling die het idee van toestemming veel breder opentrekt: naar je lichaam, je data, je rol, de systemen waarin we leven. Met installatiewerk van een brede mix aan artiesten verkent de expo wat technologie ons geeft tegenover wat het ons afneemt, en hoe we het heroveren.
Curator Natalija Gucheva: "Deze tentoonstelling neemt toestemming op in die bredere zin, niet als een vaste vergunning maar als een soort afstemming, een afstemmen op elkaar en op de systemen waarin we leven, een die telkens opnieuw vernieuwd moet worden. Wat wordt zichtbaar gemaakt en wat is van ons om te behouden? De werken leven binnen die vraag in plaats van haar te beantwoorden. Ze brengen wat verborgen is in beeld en ze bewaken wat onleesbaar moet blijven."

Toegang is gratis, maar je moet je vooraf registreren.
Je kiest zelf welke dag en welk uur je langskomt, tijdens de openingsuren van de expo.

CHE GO EUN
Che Go Eun is a Brussels- and Seoul-based artist who works from a foundation in traditional Korean painting.
For CONSENT, she creates a new work especially for Wintercircus, part of her ongoing series Belief, Love & Failure and Sleep Like a Rose, in which she feeds her diary, love letters and her father's disapproving words into AI to create watercolours and wallpaper.

LUKAS TRUNIGER
Lukas Truniger is a Paris-based visual artist, electronic composer and creative technologist whose generative media works use the mimetic nature of technology to reveal the materiality of our digital societies.
For CONSENT, he presents Distributive Intelligence | A Group Mind, a robotic light installation in which hundreds of small mechanical objects respond only to their nearest neighbours' light.

MARTYNA PEKALA
Martyna Pekala is a Rotterdam-based multimedia artist working in camp and surreal video, digital collage and installation. Her research fictionalises how social media reshapes self-perception through her own concept of "auto-gaze."
At CONSENT, she presents Optical Flow, a multi-channel video installation on a hexagonal tower. She is the only performer in them, multiplied, cropped and distorted by her own editing.

KASPER JORDAENS
Kasper Jordaens, who performs as Kaotec, is a Belgian artist and live coder rooted in hacker culture.
At CONSENT, he shows Exhibiting Intelligence, a kinetic installation in which a repurposed industrial welding arm displays a reaching, morphing hand that lures visitors close while hidden sensors quietly measure their proximity, posture, face and voice.

DRIES DEPOORTER
Dries Depoorter is a Belgian artist whose interactive installations, apps and games examine privacy, artificial intelligence, surveillance and social media. For CONSENT, he presents Shortlife XL, a device that displays the percentage of an average life already spent, based on the World Health Organization life-expectancy data.
RODRIGO CARDOSO
Rodrigo Cardoso is an Amsterdam-based artist, programmer and researcher who examines the ecological and social dimensions of digital technology.
For CONSENT, he shows Decaying Data, an installation in which an old computer is powered by mud-based microbial fuel cells. Visitors are invited to share a piece of personal data, which decays and disappears once the bacterial charge runs out.

JULIUS PRISTAUZ AND NASANIN DAHAGHIN
Julius Pristauz and Nasanin Dahaghin present Pogolina, their first collaborative performance, blending personal experience and fiction to construct a fictional character through voice, music and live performance. Combining self-written texts, original compositions and reworked sound material, the piece sits somewhere between a live concert, a DJ set and a sound installation, offering a camp take on authenticity and the construction of identity through sound.
JOHANNA BRUCKNER
Johanna Bruckner is an artist from Zurich, who focusses on postdigital intimacies between machine, human and nonhuman through biopolitics, feminism, queer theory and posthumanism.
At CONSENT, she presents Metabolic Hardware, a multi-channel video installation narrated by a Sexbot navigating a computer-generated world. The work explores how a neural interface can alter sensation, pleasure and desire from within.

ANDREA OTOYA COVELLI
Andrea Otoya Covelli is an Amsterdam-based artist, she examines how religious symbolism, pop culture and mass media shape femininity, desire and the body.
At CONSENT, she presents Hypertext and Hyperflesh, a hand-operated jacquard weave and a set of touchable inflatable sculptures, both tracing what she calls the "pneumatic body.
